‘A Light and Sound Transit’, a public art installation created by artist Hans Peter Kuhn, transformed a dark tunnel of Neville Street into an immersive urban landscape with LED lights and sound compositions. Led by Sue Ball, the director of MAAP, the installation was witnessed by 19,000 daily pedestrians and car users until its decommissioning in 2022 due to Leeds railway development. This innovative work has now been archived as a learning resource at Leeds Museums and Galleries’ Archive of Sculptors’ Papers, located at the Henry Moore Institute. The collection includes the artist’s early sketches, design proposals, technical documentation, and a 360-degree video experience available through a VR headset.
